Pat80 got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Down Hill the Movie needs a new logo
Check out Pat80's Logo design contest…
We are film producers looking for the ultimate movie logo for a sports movie.
Logo types to explore
This logo is for a movie called Down Hill, which is all about the fast-action, dangerous but exciting sport of downhill skiing. This is a legitimate movie that will be shown in theaters to potentially millions of people. The director is Ron Underwood of City Slickers, Tremors and Mighty Joe Young. This isn't your typical slapstick comedy skiing movie, and it's not a 100% serious movie either. It's a dramatic piece with intense character development and lighthearted/smart comedy as well, all with downhill skiing as the background to all this. Our target audience is obviously people (male and female) who ski, primarily between the ages 15 to 35. Cool, hip, sleek, fun, adventurous, etc. Remember, this is the logo for the movie. It will be used on the website as well, however imagine the logo shown at the very beginning of a movie in a dark theater as you design it. We don't want to give you too much direction so we don't hinder creativity - we love creativity - however we can tell you that in our minds we're envisioning the words Down Hill (2 separate words, capitalized at the beginning of each) with some type of mountain scape, maybe a skier. Again, think of Down Hill skiing - how fast and fun it is, how you get that rush when you go down a hill. We're trying to convey that in our logo somehow, and we look forward to seeing what you come up with. This contest will be made public to our existing contacts, so you as the winning designer will probably get some new exposure as well. Good luck, and we look forward to your submissions! http://www.facebook.com/downhillthemovie
