I am a 46 year old mom of 3 grown children (22,20,17). My husband is a self employed plaster/stucco professional. I have happily worked the last 20 years in a family owned The UPS Store. I bought the equipment and client list of an existing graphic house and have the opportunity of running my very own business where my family can have a future of ownership and security. I love and enjoy art and design tremendously. This is a print/graphic shop where we can print an assortment of projects from wallet to wall size, indoor/outdoor signage all produced on a wide variety of substrates. I bought this business from a man who did this for 20 years. I want to keep the customers on file but also give them a brand new twist and energy to the traditional business they are used to as well as attract a whole new clientel. I don't plan on working for anyone ever again. This is my dream work, full of all the fun, artistic, unique, and totally individual projects I can handle and think of. Help me create my successful dream. I need assistance with a logo that will capture others attention with intrigue. It also needs to let them know that I am a confident, professional, yet unique business woman who can get their job done. Thank you.
I don't know that I have a specific audience. The business I am in and the products I produce can be for just about anyone. I want to capture the true business professional from a large corporation. That individual needs to feel confident that I can get their job done professionally and within their time frame. On the other hand, if it's just a small business, self employed individual, (laborer, painter, plasterer, carpenter, artist, seamstress....)or homemaker, I want them to feel comfortable coming to me for assistance. Maybe they don't think anyone can help them on a small scale product. I would like to be the one they come to because they know I can help them get the job done no matter how small it may be. As for the village I live in, they should come to me with confidence to get signage printed for all the events coming to town. Eventhough they have used a bigger company in the past, I am here...... right in town as well as a resident of their town. I want to be the unique, professional, business woman that can get the job done! I want to burn the previous owners past or anything he may have left behind in peoples minds. A clear fresh start as the printer/designer/installer of choice.... big or small!
Here are some key elements I would like incorporated into my design.
Butterflies -- a single one, group of 3 or 4 or lots of them, realistic (but not too "insect" looking), colorful - in particular blues - deep blue, royal, baby, bright. Other colors like a bright green, bright yellow, orange, purple, and lots of black definition. On the other hand, if a design is done in neutral tones (browns, tans, taupe, black, off white) it would match the type of tones that I wear and decorate with.
The butterfly theme or idea comes from the phrase "there's a butterfly in my backyard". My family also believes a certain monarch we see symbolizes, Nane, who was the grandma matriarch of the family.
My business name was developed from my endearing nickname: KiKi. Thus, Ki2 stands for Ki squared, or KiKi. The (2) is supposed to be raised. "Ink" would just be a pun for the business of printing.
Hiding that phrase or my name somewhere in the design would be cool (tabimb) (KiKi/Kiki/kiki) (Ki2 with 2 raised)
Use your creativity....if you see something here that I have written that could be conveyed differently, go for it.
Some might find a butterfly to look unprofessional, but that's what I would like in a professional look. If you have a design without a butterfly I would still like to see it.
Samples came from the previous owner. I don't really like that butterfly.
