Business & Consulting
"Digitalize & Conquer" is the brand name that I adopted for my professional activities as independent consultant/manager in digital transformation, IT project and programme management and CIO advisory. The name is a play on words to the phrase "divide and conquer", from the Latin phrase “divide et impera” utilised by the Roman statesman and military general Julius Caesar to describe his political approach for ruling Gaul, the historical region of Western Europe encompassing (among other countries) present day Belgium where I reside and work. I decided to use "Digitalize & Conquer" as brand name for several reasons. The first reason is a rather personal one. In high school I have taken Latin as one of my main subjects for 6 years. Although learning languages wasn't particularly my strong suit back then, exploring Latin came quite naturally to me because in the first few years the teaching approach was very structured (which matches the way I learn and work best) and then in the subsequent years I truly enjoyed applying the acquired knowledge for reading and translating Latin texts because it appealed to my analytical skills. Secondly, the phrase "Digitalize & Conquer" captures the essence of the work that I have been doing during a career of 15 years so far in corporate IT, work that I will now continue as independent consultant for a diverse range of organizations small and large: having conversations with my clients about their business processes, adapting those to the needs of the modern-day fast-paced business environment by using digital technology and ultimately streamlining business performance and making my clients thrive. Last but not least, the name "Digitalize & Conquer" also expresses a solid brand promise, the values and experiences my clients can expect to receive every single time they work with me: expertise, dedication and focus on tangible and actionable results. These qualities should also be expressed by the logo that accompanies the brand. I am looking for a sleek logo that prominently includes a Roman soldier's helmet (galea) with crest like the one depicted in the image file in attachment. I did not just choose that image because I want to stick with the Roman background story. To me the helmet symbolizes the dedication, fccus, action and result from the brand promise, but there is also the element of preparedness for what the future might bring. Moreover, the helmet brings a human element into the equation: after all it is worn by humans to protect the head, part of the body that contains the brain and is the seat of critical thinking and imagination (2 things that are also very important in my line of work). I have given the depiction of the helmet in the logo already quite some thought, here are the main characteristics that I am looking for: - A combination mark (a logo comprised of a combined wordmark or lettermark and a pictorial mark), but both components should be easily separable so that I can potentially just use the pictorial mark without the lettermark if needed. - For the helmet, you can take inspiration from the picture that I uploaded in attachment. You'll probably notice my preference for geometrical pictorial marks in the sample designs that I liked. More specifically, I am looking for a polygonal depiction (the helmet should still be recognizable though). - Color guidance: the main colors to be used should be variations of red (Venetian Red RGB #c80815 suggested) and gold (RGB #d4af37). Even though the example image that I provided contains light silver (RGB #d8d8d8) as main color and gold just for some details, I suggest to invert that color pattern since I would like to use the logo on both light and darker backgrounds and that will be easier to achieve with gold as one of the main colors and silver just for some details. - I'd also like to have the WiFi pictogram (sample image in attachment) incorporated in the design of the helmet's crest (small versions that kinda make up the individual feathers in the crest) - Lettermark part of the logo: should be designed in such a way that it can be easily adapted to work both on light (white) and dark (darker greys) background. I would mainly be using the logo with the lettermark to the right of the pictorial mark. I had imagined using the custom font Colon Mono but I am not sure that in the end it will fit the polygonal style of the logo, so I am open to hearing suggestions.
