Cobbler

We help non-finance employees build and track budgets.

Many people are intimidated by the process of creating a budget for their department. We're making it really easy for them to do so. Similarly, our brand should be friendly, colorful, and modern. Despite the fact that we’re selling to businesses, the application should feel almost like a consumer brand.

Update: We don't need the logo to look like the letter C. We'd rather it look more like a pie chart or incorporate the cross-hatch that goes over a pie.

We like logos that are relatively simple and flat. Ex., Slack, AirBnB, Asana, Instagram. We do not want the logo to have really complex, high-fidelity detail. Similarly, we don’t like the use of intense drop-shadows. We do not want a vertically stacked logo. The mark should be to the left of the word Cobbler. Ideally, the mark would be distinct enough that it could stand alone from the wordmark.

We chose the name Cobbler because we are cobbling together data, but a Cobbler is also a dessert that looks like a pie. We have played around with the idea of using a mark that looks like a pie chart (just make sure it doesn’t look like pacman) or trying to mark a hashtag look like a pie (just make sure it doesn’t look like Slack). We’re open to other ideas, but again, we want them to be relatively simple.

The color palette that we’ve been using is colorful. (You can tweak this, but it gives you a sense of the visual direction.)
