Design a minimalist logo for The Rover, our new dog travel product company!

The Rover is a new pet travel product company that's going to launch with a line of dog luggage (hence "The Rover" in name as a play on both the classic dog name "Rover" and "roving", ie. "to travel" :-) ) The audience is literally anyone who loves dogs! Very age and gender agnostic.

This logo will likely be applied to many different colored items, so I'd like to keep it in black and white so as not to clash.

The luggage will be similar to the attached, and I am hoping to incorporate the logo as sewn on rubber "cut-outs" as shown in these examples. Therefore, I'm looking for a minimalist logo with simple, clean lines that denotes both dogs and travel. PLEASE SEE MY PINTEREST BOARD, it is a far, far better demonstration of what I'm looking for than the 99Designs examples I've chosen. I love the "Dog + Pin" examples, but I'm also very open to considering logos based on a compass rose, a globe, or some other "travel-themed" item if you have a good idea. Please include both an icon and the name The Rover in your designs.
