I am Professor in mechanical engineering at the University of Utah. I would like to create a logo for my research group. Typically, these are posted on my research group website and presentations that we deliver.
Most labs try to develop a logo based on their research activities, incorporating the key aspects of their research discipline. For example:
This is the logo of a lab that works in the area of solar energy and water.
This is the logo of a lab that works on technologies related to heating and refrigeration
This is a logo of a lab that works on carbon nanostructures and thermal energy
This is the logo of a lab that works on the flow of energy for developing renewable energy solutions. This is a logo that I REALLY like.
Again, these are logo's that I like. I've chosen these examples as they are related to my area of research.
I want a logo that reflects my lab's research. Here is an overview of my lab's research: We work on understanding the flow of energy and matter to develop solutions for water, energy, and food production. Again, the example logo's are a great guide to what I am looking for
Key design concepts/elements that I would like to see in my logo: flow of heat and energy: can be literal (flame) or abstract (red arrow)
water: droplet, ice crystal, blue arrow etc.
hot/cold: maybe blue and red arrow. Blue can also symbolize water
flux (flow, arrow, etc).
Sustainable food: have some green in there? leaf?
Arrows of different colors that show flow of heat, energy, water
Arrows intersecting/pointing to create to form a triangular or circular shape?
