We are a newly launching private language school for English as a Second Language (ESL). We are targeting international students who want to choose a smaller city alternative (Barrie, Ontario, Canada) to come and live and learn English. We want to evoke thoughts of trust, success, and a unique "real Canadian" living experience. By choosing Barrie and the Simcoe English Academy, our students are choosing to be a part of a community where they will see people they meet downtown on a regular basis, as opposed to being just another person on the street in a big city like Toronto (but, Barrie is just an hour away from Toronto, so it's easy to visit). I've found in my own travelling that the best experiences are the ones where you get "off the beaten path", and this is the niche market we are aiming for: those who want to create their own more unique experience and get a top-quality education in the English language in doing so. The students themselves will be from around the world, with special emphasis on growing markets in China, Brazil, Vietnam, North Africa, and the Middle East. They will primarily be just out of high school, so 18+. The customer segment we need to sell to is actually three-fold:
1. The students themselves: they want an enjoyable, fun, safe experience
2. The students parents: they are probably paying the way, in many cases. They want a serious and proven successful pathway for their kids' future.
3. International recruiting agents: they want fresh programs and options which they can add to their portfolio for sales. Selling and recruiting through agents can be cutthroat and they will play my school off of other schools, guaranteed. They will be leery initially of our "newness" in the field, but there are so very many agents and agencies in the world that they are a necessary partner for all international recruiting departments.
We will offer a variety of programs including: intensive English, test preparation for standardized proficiency tests (IELTS, TOEFL, etc.), academic preparation, pronunciation, business English, and more. We will aim to develop programs to help students with university and college preparation and bridging; work-study; volunteer-study; and recreation-study.
This is a new business, with no existing logo, so I'm afraid we're starting from scratch here. The good news is, the floor is open to ideas and inspiration. If you want to compare with a logo from two of the top ESL academies in Canada, please visit http://www.ilac.com and http://www.ilsc.com
Our website will be http://www.simcoeenglishacademy.com. The domain is purchased and web designers are being vetted locally. The logo chosen will be a big part of our initial branding strategy, that goes without saying.
Good luck, and thanks for your efforts...
