About us
House by Northwestern is the Solar Decathlon team for Northwestern University. The Solar Decathlon is a competition sponsored by the U.S. Dept. of Energy that showcases innovative solar powered houses designed, built, and operated by collegiate teams. The Northwestern team's goal is to design a highly sustainable, "tiny" home by the shore of Lake Michigan in Chicago (home will be <1000 sq. feet). This logo will be used on all communications for this project, which will be directed towards diverse audiences, including university students, staff, and faculty; community residents of all ages and backgrounds; and the competition judges from the Department of Energy. We want to communicate that this home/project is innovative, forward-thinking, environmentally-minded, well-designed and modern (but not too modern).

We'd like for the design to use the Northwestern purple in some way, but not necessarily be dominated by it; the logo can (and should) incorporate other colors.
