Design a logo for a new nonprofit for underprivileged children

The Mimi Project is a nonprofit that seeks to deliver small (simple cardboard) boxes containing educational and fun/comforting items to underprivileged children. This will likely begin with children's books and stuffed animals, and progress from there. The Mimi Project is in honor of our mom, who believed books bring joy, adventure, imagination, and an appetite for learning to children. As kids, she would drop us in a pile of stuffed animals and we would get sucked into these worlds for hours. We want to bring that opportunity to children around the US who may not otherwise be able to enjoy these things.

We would like a logo that captures the imagination, fun, and possibilities of combining the worlds of children's books and stuffed animals, and incorporating the words "The Mimi Project" (please note we do want all 3 words to be part of the logo. It should be somewhat playful as we're serving kids, but not too silly/lighthearted as this is a nonprofit serving underprivileged children in need. One idea we'd like designers to explore is having the word "Mimi" written as if it were a strand of yarn as part of the wordmark; yarn was a favorite past-time of hers. Another idea to explore might be having a simply-drawn stuffed animal reading a book as part of the logo. However: we are not designers. So, feel free to add/bring your own creative expertise and ideas as a part of the possible end product. One note: we'll be printing or stamping or creating a sticker out of the logo at some point, so keeping that in mind from a simplicity of design and color scheme will be important. Thank you!
