How catob started their logo design journey
Sora Marine Services Ltd.
. .I am changing my carrier after being employee for the last 25 years. For some reasons, I don't want to work for someone else but for my own company. I have a marine background and did oil and gas marketing but got tired of trying to please my boss. I lived in Japan and worked for long time with Japanese companies. I have high respect for the quality of service and commitments toward customers. Therefore, I selected the word "Sora" which means sky in Japanese. Sora Marine Services activities will commence with chartering out yachts, boats and jet skies for its customers. Next the company will start marine repair facilities for boats and yachts. After that we will move into providing marine service for suppliers of ship's equipments and spare parts. Ultimately, the company will move into chartering out work boats, tugs and supply boats for offshore oil and gas activities
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Initially the company target is leisure marine activities such as holiday makers and groups who are intending to have fun on the water. Our country is surrounded by beautiful sea. No other similar company currently in existence here. In a year time from the initial startup the market will include more professional marine industry targeting large ship owners, dry-docks, marine equipment suppliers and government officials.
The logo should be easy to remember and recognizable. Should be fresh and modern, yet must represent the long tradition of the sea. It should be simple and must show the deep root into the past. The company will be dealing with international markets and our employees are from different nationalities. Therefore the logo must have an international concept. I like contemporary designs but not too extreme. The colors must be fresh and must be able to be photo copied in black and white without losing the identity or the concept. I don't like too sharp edges at the logo and I prefer horizontal projection rather than too much vertical. Reference to the meaning of the name of the company (Sora) can be accepted but need not necessarily be present.
The logo must contain the word "Sora" directly or artistically visible. Capital, small letters or combinations are all OK. The logo will be used in electronic presentations, hard copy printing, business cards and engraving on gifts.
