Parachute
Parachute is a back-up and archiving utility for Basecamp (the project management app created by 37signals).
What makes Parachute unique is that backs up all your files--something that no other back-up service does (yet). It lets you archive one or multiple projects, and provides you with a back-up you can share with clients or just store for your own records.
Parachute is a small product we're releasing on its own (there will be no connection to our current company and brand).
The product will likely appeal to many Basecamp customer (who are primarily small and medium-sized businesses, like web design and development shops).
We know many people who are frustrated with not being able to back-up *all* their Basecamp data.
Back-up and archiving are issues that concern larger organizations (more the medium-sized business, or the larger companies that use Basecamp).
We would like the logo to include a wordmark with the product name ("Parachute") and a simple illustration. The illustration could include a parachute, files, etc., or it could be something else that communicates the purpose of the product.
The logo should be clean, bold and unique. Clever, whimsical and funny are okay; just remember that some of our customers will be larger companies that take everything way too seriously.
This logo will probably never be used outside of the website and email. Bonus points if it works in B&W as well as colour.
We'll need two formats:
* JPG or PNG
* Original layered PSD or equivalent
Please do *not* riff off of the 37signals designs (e.g. the Basecamp logo, product name, design style, etc.). We don't want to infringe on any of their intellectual property.
