We already have the van which is bright turquoise in colour (RAL 5018). At the moment we envisage the logo being solid white but are open to other colours being incorporated. It may help you to know that the oven has been tiled a bright orange mosaic, which is the main focal point when standing at the van.
On the website and literature the logo will probably be reversed, so turquoise on white.
We have created a pinterest board collating logos and images that we like the look and feel of. Here's the link...
Lots of food vans and similar companies, through their design and names etc, feel like they take themselves a bit too seriously and can come across as a little pretentious. It's important to us that we strike the right balance and there's a laid back and somewhat cheeky element to our branding.
As the company is named after Ralph it would be great to incorporate a simple illustration of him. We really like the silhouette of the dog on the 'Naked Dog, Italian Restaurant' logo. This actually looks a little like Ralph too. Something like this would be great. Also on the pinterest board is a really rubbish little sketch that we drew of a dog holding a slice of pizza in it's mouth. Maybe this will give you some ideas!
As you can see from the majority of the images, we like the feel of at least part of the logo being hand drawn. Maybe just the word 'Ralph's' could be a script type but we're open to suggestions. We also like the tails and swooshes used in a lot of the logos.
Of all the images on the pinterest board we're particular fans of the 'Fifties American Diner' and 'Dolce Cupcakery' logos.
There's also a photo of Ralph on the Pinterest board.
