I think the designer pretty much nailed what we were looking for and was very responsive to changes.

Who are you known as?
WUDAPT - it stands for World Urban Database and Access Portal Tools but I think this name is too long to have in the logo
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Aim: WUDAPT is focused on acquiring, storing and disseminating data on cities around the world. The data include a classification of the urban area into urban and natural land cover types but we also collect data on urban form (geometry, land cover, materials of the city, e.g. brick houses) and function (how people ‘use’ the city/buildings).
End use of WUDAPT: Focus is on climate: Climate Change Adaptation, Urban atmospheric science, Urban Planning, environmental change. Numerous other applications (include energy, emergency response). So the target audience is researchers, urban planners, urban climatologists, architects.
WUDAPT uses: crowdsourcing (citizens to collect urban data as well as experts) and remote sensing (satellite imagery to create the urban classification)
Important aspects: Urban; mapping; climate; community/citizens/crowd; improve understanding & close information gap for policy making; global database of cities.

Since we deal with urban form, I like the idea of including a skyline with different buildings in the logo maybe - you can see an example in the video at 2:23 minutes upper left corner - however, we are open to all sorts of ideas. The idea of crowdsourcing and the use of citizens is also an important part of WUDAPT.
Industry is environment, research, climate, architecture, etc. so much broader than just architectural.
