JeffPGZ got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Design new logo for established golf brand

Performance Golf provides online golf training video courses and coaching to amateur golfers to help them improve their game.
Even though our company provides online video training, we also provide 1-on-1 coaching, and more... so we DON'T want the logo to incorporate any online video themes (like a video play button)... Rather, we'd like it to have more of a "sports" and "performance" feel. This brand logo will be used primarily on the web. So it should work as a horizontal layout. (As opposed to a square layout, like a graphic above text.) However it should be highly versatile, so that it can be used on clothing as well. (Polo shirts, hats, etc) It should be simple, clean, and unique. It should look like a true brand, and should not look like generic "clip art." The "Performance Golf" font should not be a basic font, but rather give a unique, branded look, and should bring about the feeling of "sports" and "performance". I would imagine that the lettering would be all caps. And would be uniquely styled to give the feeling of "motion". The logo should be clear and legible when shrunken down to a small size on the web. We are not looking for anything "busy" or detailed. We're going for sleek, modern, and clean "big brand" look. This means it should also be a "flat" design. (No shadows, gradients, etc.) The logo should incorporate both a text element AND a graphic element which can stand alone. Meaning, we can use just the graphic element on the breast of a polo shirt, and it would still uniquely represent our brand with no words. (Like Nike, Puma, New Balance, Adidas, Under Armour etc...) We're open to ideas of what this graphic could be. But we're leaning towards using the brand's initials "PG" with a design to it. (Like "New Balance" and "Asics" have done, as you can see in the attached image.)
