michae0H got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Design a logo for an awesome plumber marketing company
Check out michae0H's Logo design contest…
We are a marketing agency that exclusively works for plumbing businesses. Our target customer is an ambitious owner of a plumbing business (most often male) that is not prepared to accept the norms of the industry. By this, they desire to build a successful plumbing business and wish to be seen as successful by others. They've worked very hard in their lives and want to get the rewards. We get above way average results and our prices mean that we are an aspirational choice. As with many trades people, they are usually more hands and a little more 'rough and ready' than your slick professional services business owner.
*** UPDATE (11/02/2021 - FINAL ROUND) *** Once again, I’d like to thank everyone for their hard work with the concepts. I’ve been overwhelmed at the response and really enjoyed the process. I’ve carefully considered each one of the designs and as a result of going through this process, I’ve come up with the concept I would like. I’ve uploaded a sketch (gypb-logo-sketch.jpg) I’ve drawn to the references section of the brief. I’ve also attached a style of tap illustration (Adobe Stock 35878907) I would like to have piping around the edge forming into an upwards arrow. The pipes around the edge can get incrementally bigger, but not too drastically Please give the overall logo a balanced, professional and artistic feel. I hope that from my drawing and explanation this will be very clear of my expectations, but please do ask if you have any questions. Thanks again for being so awesome!!! *** UPDATE (08/02/2021) *** Thanks so much for the awesome entries so far. I think there are some creative ideas from the ‘symbol’ side of things. I’m liking the use of pipes, flames, and tools and would like to see the continued feel of ‘success’ too. I’d like to see some of these ideas reflect more of a ‘single piece’ feel where the logo is intertwined with the symbol to feel like a badge. I think some of the designs feel a little ‘bland’ in terms of choice of typeface and character. If it’s possible can we make the logo feel more fun, bold, artistic and maybe even ‘renegade’ (almost like a badge of honour to be worn with pride) which is inline with the type of plumber we work for. Maybe even a little more masculine and even a bit ‘retro’ style. Take all of these suggestions as subtle design influences rather than extremes. Other key points to consider are: - Please make the logo appear on a white background - All words in the name are important, however if one gets prominence, then it would be plumber, followed by grow - I’m not too keen on using a ‘G’ for the icon as this is not relevant to the aspirational feel of the brand. - The writing should still remain clear and easy to read Thanks again for your awesome work. I’m happy to answer any questions that you have, just leave a message. ******** I'm happy for you to take creative control. The logo should give off the feeling of success. It should appear aspirational, but approachable. If there were two themes of the logo it would be plumbing and success (making money). Both of these can (and possibly should) be used in your design, but try not to make it cheesy or too cliche. Your design should convey this message in a way which suits the 'down to earth' nature of the customer. After all, they are plumbers not royalty.
