Location Intelligence for Everyone
Note on the typeface used for the company name or slogan -- we like the QG font. We are not fixed on it, but like a modern font that has a tech feel. Our organization produces software that allows analysts in businesses or governments analyze map-based information and aerial imagery (think Google Earth) extremely fast using artificial intelligence. We want to have the logo convey a modern, high-tech, silicon valley startup. We will be using this logo in our pre-launch fundraising with investors. We would rather have the logo relate to artificial intelligence and deep learning, rather than maps as we want to set ourselves apart from regular mapping companies. For example, we would rather come across as Palantir (https://www.palantir.com/) than ESRI (www.esri.com).
Other color requirements
The primary color pallet we are using for our slide decks is these 4 colors: Coral (#E14658), Navy (#22252C), Mountain (#3F3250), Scrub (C0B3A0), with Coral as the bold accent and Navy/Mountain as background and Scrub as text. I would appreciate a few alternative designs using a color pallets recommended by the designers as well.
The name of our company Paper Crane comes from the Japanese tradition to fold 1000 paper cranes when wishing someone a positive recovery from a natural disaster. Our team has invested lots of time around natural disasters (floods, fires, earthquakes) and this is part of our motivation as a team. We don't need this to come across literally in the logo, but some design options that integrates a origami paper crane would be interesting to see. To get a feel for competing companies of ours, you can look at Thoughtspot (https://www.thoughtspot.com/), Orbital Insight (https://orbitalinsight.com/) and Planet (https://www.planet.com/).
