The Monroe County Energy Challenge is a community effort to promote energy efficiency and increase awareness across Monroe County. Partners include the City of Bloomington, the Towns of Ellettsville and Stinesville, Monroe County Government, the Monroe County School Corporation, the Richland-Bean Blossom School Corporation, the Indiana University Office of Sustainability, and others.
This group, with the help of local utility companies, has been accepted as semifinalists in the Georgetown University Energy Prize competition (http://www.guep.org). This multi-year, $5 million prize competition aims to tap the "imagination, creativity, and spirit of competition between communities across the country to develop sustainable energy-saving innovations." Monroe County is one of 50 communities competing across the country, and the only one in Indiana.

Secondary: Potential partner organizations, including faith communities, neighborhood associations, local businesses, etc.
