The design is great, incorporating aspects of the brief that others did not. The initial design was promising but did not meet our needs (a font too slim to be easily read when the logo was shrunk); feedback was responded to quickly and new designs were submitted which resolved the issues. A late request for a slight colour change post-completion was met with a quick and effective response. The result is a design that doesn't just "make do", which I had anticipated after seeing other designers' early submissions, but one that will help fulfill the aims of the project.

How Dr RP started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
How to be Miserable
What’s your company slogan?
Psychology served straight-up. (optional in designs)
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
This is a video blog for YouTube based on my book, How to be Miserable: 40 Strategies You Already Use. Target audience: skews to young adult, wanting straight information about psychology. Each video will be 5 minutes or so long and is meant to be low in the new-agey love and light. I want the information to be delivered straight, no gooeyness, and should challenge people's preconceptions. The book itself invites people to ask what they would do if they wanted to feel worse rather than better - a device designed to be humorous but also to put the reader in charge of their own life and decisions. Some of the vlog posts in this series will be on the how to be miserable theme; others not so much. The title is meant as a tie-in to the book, however. The design can incorporate ideas or elements from the book cover, but could also be a completely different design. The slogan is entirely optional.

Elements of my book's cover can be incorporated, though the site is being launched in part to launch the second book in the series, which may have a different cover. The intent of the vlog is to provide brief (5 min) snippets of information based on psychological principles from a humorous but blunt (no BS, no gooey love-and-light affirmations) perspective. It's fine if the logo has little to do with the book cover design; I include it as only one option. The logo will appear as part of the YouTube channel homepage and at the start of each video. To this end, I'd like it to stand out regardless of whether the background is light, dark, or moving. Perhaps a logo outlined by white or black background would work. I would like it to be transparent in the sense that it doesn't have a rectangular block behind it (like some PNG files). A 3 dimensional look would work well with video I think.
Early designs are very basic, with just a thick font. I am looking for something that makes an impression, either as an overlay for the first few seconds of a video, or as a separate initial title card (logo on plain background). So we're after something more logo-like; not just a title.
