Animal & Pet
My organization is a single person LLC, run by me and I am a cat behaviorist. I believe (most...) cats are funny, quirky, warm, cuddly, comforting, and really really smart. Smarter than people know - and there is a lot that people don't know. Sometimes the divide between what is normal for cats, and totally abnormal to people, gets in the way of their relationship with each other. This is where I come in. My friends call me the cat pied piper because I get cats...and I help others understand them better too! Sometimes the work is proactive, like when I help animal shelters master the art of caring and interacting with their cats in a way that increases the chance a cat will get adopted. In other cases the counsel I provide is reactive, like when I work with cat owners who are in the midst of a cat problem that they desperately want to resolve. They reach out to me and I listen and help coach them through solutions, until they find one that works for them (and their cat!) Individual cat owners are my primary target audience. These owners are primarily female and age widely in range, from 25 - 65. They are mostly low-middle to middle-upper income. They love their cat and consider the cat a family member. By the time they reach out to me they are usually very stressed out about the problem they are having. They have tried recommendations they have gotten from Googling and other free online sources of information, which have not worked and they are considering the professional help option as a last chance. For these reasons it is important that the logo be welcoming and relatable. Nothing should seem frazzled. People already find it somewhat intimidating to reach out to a professional so the logo should not create any barriers on top of that. I am a professional and I know what I am doing, but like I intimated, I conduct myself more of a coach more than a doctor because I seem to get more engagement at the start when I'm a girl who knows a lot about cats and loves them versus when Im an academician who is going to lecture at them. In addition to the serious stuff I do fun things too, like cat toy evaluation and cat clicker training. Solemnity isn't anything that has ever solved a cat problem and is also is not a quality I would like to see in the logo but I don't want to convey any lack of professionalism either. I am trying to stay away from a logo that conveys themes of heart and loving, as these are too passive and not quite reflective of the energy, activity and engagement that exists between the cats and I. My business is conducted online at least as frequently, if not more often, than in person. The reason I named my business That Cat Girl is that it seems to be the way people refer to me when they talk to each other. Whenever I asked anyone how they heard of me they would always say, "well, so and so asked me if I knew that cat girl."
This is totally new branding for me and if choose a logo I am likely to follow up with requests for website and brand identity tools. The images I include here pretty much sum up my everyday. They are not meant to provide strictly literal guidance but rather to give context to my work. It is very active and positively energetic. The themes of my day tend to be communicating, training, teaching and guiding. The top reasons that people come to me are: 1) the cat is not using the litterbox and 2) the cat is not getting along with another cat (or a person) in the home. I thank you for honoring me with the consideration of your time and artistic talent. Please do message me with any questions you may have.
