Desert Datsun Restoration business needs a logo

Logo will be used on our website, on apparel and in our marketing materials. We are looking for designs that incorporate elements of the 1970's Datsun "ball" logo that can be found on numerous Datsun websites - with a contemporary twist.

We restore 240Z cars, we sell restored original parts and we intend to develop an apparel line that includes T shirts and mechanic shirts.  We like the Datsun logo used in the 1970's, but would like to see our name incorporated into a similar format, hopefully retaining the red and blue colors - and while utilizing the '70's design, we are open to some contemporary interpretations of the logo. We also don't want to be sued by Nissan Motor Corp, so it will have to be an original work the borrows from the theme, but doesn't blatantly rip it off.  We are also interested in the lines of a 240Z car and much like Infiniti uses the lines in their advertising now, the lines of a 240Z would also be cool to incorporate.  I am intensely interested in this project and will provide detailed and timely feedback.  Thanks for reading - can't wait to see what you come up with.  Very best, Mike@desertdatsun.com, Fountain Hills AZ, USA
