Community & Non-Profit
Cedar Creek Counseling & Wellness is a private practice mental health clinic located in Bozeman, MT, USA. I treat a variety of mental health disorders in adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I treat trauma, anxiety depression, grief/loss, and other psychological and relational difficulties. I aspire to grow my practice in the future (including other clinicians and wellness/health professionals in more of a clinic type setting) and want a professional logo that will resonate professionalism, trust, understanding, peace, confidence, and support with the community. The target audience is mainly adults seeking mental health assistance for themselves and/or for members of their family. My counseling approach is very relational and humanistic. In my sessions, I often use the analogy of walking along with my clients down their life paths and supporting them through overcoming difficulties.
Here’s a list of general things I desire for my logo: 1). I want creativity and uniqueness and references to natural elements or colors and shapes. 2). I love Gestalt imagery and concepts. 3). I want the design of my logo to have attention to composition, balance, and depth. I want it to grab the viewer’s attention. 4). I want the logo to invoke a sense of calm, confidence, trust, and professionalism. 5). Effective use of positive and negative space, balance, motion, and/or composition. 6. I lean towards the “Cedar Creek” in my business name to be a professional, timeless serif font. “Counseling + Wellness” can be serif or sans-serif, whichever looks better to you with the design. 7). I’m looking for a perfect middle ground between not being too busy and not being too simplistic. 8). The logo needs to look professional and complete across many different types of media such as business card, website, and documents. If possible, I would like it to tie in with the current themes on my website (www.cedarcreekmh.com). 9). Referencing aspects of flowing water or Cedar trees would be great. (Does not have to be a realistic picture of a full branch or picture of a tree). If you decide to try and do a full tree in the design, it’ll have to be more hand-drawn or realistic looking as outlines of trees tend to look stock, clip art, or vector shape to me. 10). Any use of gestalt concepts Within the negative and positive space, symbolism, or any hidden messages or images within the logo that reference my business or nature elements (e.g. flowing water) would be awesome. 11). The design can be line art as well, as long as it has attention to depth and perspective...I’d like to see creativity through line stroke pressure, size, and/or weight. UNDESIRED ELEMENTS: 1). No landscapes. It’s ok to insinuate an abstract simple landscape, but no detailed landscapes. 2). if you incorporate a full tree figure in your design, it has to be a Cedar tree. Anything else will get declined. 3). No stick figure trees or symmetrical tree shapes please. 4). No blatant imagery of the body, brain, hands, or meditation poses. 5). Nothing that looks stock or clip art. 6). nothing too busy. 7). Nothing too simplistic. 8). Nothing too flat. I want the design to grab the viewers attention. 9). No images of just plain C’s. 10. No purely abstract concepts or random shapes that have no reference to my business name, nature, or profession.

Gingko was super helpful in helping me design the perfect logo for my company. They went above and beyond in providing me feedback and following my vision! Excited to work with this designer again, should I need any additional design work! Thank you Gingko!
