My name is Scott Curts. I have been performing music my whole life and most recently in Southwest Florida for the past 20 years. I'm breaking away from the night club scene to establish my business and presence online. My current band I've been performing with for the past 13 years is: http://www.chameleonentertainment.com. I've worked on some indie film projects and multi media works writing and creating music for for film, commercials, podcasts, websites, radio ids etc. I'm currently working on an independent full feature film: http://www.beautifulnoisemovie.com. I'm starting out marketing this work and creativity on my new website: http://www.bigmouthmusic.com.
I have already developed a site for my production company: http://www.curtsong.com. I intend to brand myself as an artist, composer, song writer and music producer. While working on projects I'll sell royalty free music through Big Mouth Music.
I love music and anything creative. I'm 46 years old and love every style of music from contemporary dance, Hip Hop, Alternative, Classic Rock, R & B, Latin, Techno, Jazz, classical. I'm as ecclectic and diverse as one could get.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
My target market is broadcast media, advertising agencies, film industry, indie industries, and web media.
After my research , I have realized that I'm not looking to compete with huge royalty free companies with thousands of tracks in every category. I'm looking to brand myself as an artist with a library to license for media use.
I'm attaching two jpgs which will show the template I'm starting with for the website. As you'll see One is light and the other is dark. I'm leaning towards the lighter version. This template has a transparency that I like, which can lend to using the logo as a large background in addition to the logo spot reserved. I can change the spacial size for that spot as well.
Feedback is welcome, as I have played with the creativity of graphic design and web design, however, my training is in music. I just greatly appreciate the skills you all possess. I'm a geek at heart. :)
As for the design of the logo, I'm seeing "playful", "fun", obviously working with a graphic Mouth in some way would really be cool. Would like to steer away from anything close to the Rolling Stones Graphic Mouth and Tongue. I want it to convey a Hip Cool Contemporary feel nothing stuffy or Corporate. Indie Music image.
Man I wish I had your creative graphic talents! :)
