Summit Financial Systems
I am tired of telling my prospects what I don't do and this is why I'm changing my company name from "Libby King, CPA" to "Summit Financial Systems."
I am a CPA but as soon as those words come out of my mouth they either tell me they already have someone to do their taxes or they don't need to be audited. There's more to us than taxes! I hate taxes!
What I love is to create financial systems that bring order from chaos and that give insight to the business owners and management that they so desperately need. The way I can tell that I've been successful in demonstrating how I can help my prospects is that they will say something like, "I feel so much better since we've talked," or "this is exactly what I knew I was missing."
I also have the gift of teaching, so I bring new ideas and processes into my clients' work place and train their accounting staff how do do things better.
I have to be sensitive to the nature of my work which involves getting to know the intimate details of other people's money (or lack thereof) and be a strong leader through the projects to get them to the other side.
Finally, I want to keep my clients out of trouble with the auditors and the tax man. So compliance with the many regulations and principles is key to success.
From new business owners who have demonstrated that they are a viable entity (they've survived the first year or so and are showing promise) to those more mature companies who are ready for a change in their systems that will improve their condition.
The nice thing about accounting is that your clients' specific industry doesn't really matter that much because everybody has to count the money...I've helped non-profits, manufacturers, government contractors, and professional firms.
Selecting a logo is like getting married or buying furniture. I understand that it will be with me for a very long time and that the logo will take on its own life in the marketplace regardless of whether it's a good one or bad one, so I'm hoping to get a good one!!!
In terms of characterizing my company's personality, I want to portray elements of trust, integrity, professionalism, advocacy, and comfort. In terms of the actual product delivered, I want to communicate themes of order, streamlining, optimization, compliance, and finally providing visibility into the inner workings of their company. Visibility is key because these business owners want information sliced and diced so many ways and a good system is required to give that to them which will then allow them to make better business decisions.
My colors are purple & green.
On my old website: http://www.libbycpa.com , the picture in the upper right corner has the colors that I would like to maintain. The picture is of an aurora, but I chose it because it looks like an angel coming to the rescue...
A feminine look and feel is OK. I don't want any semblance of money (cash, coins, etc.) or any ledger paper or tax-related anything. Leave that for the tax bean counters.
I'll be using the logo to display on ink pens as gifts, my website, business cards, letterhead, and possibly embroidering onto a backpack.
