Creating a new brand logo for an industrial technology provider called IAMTech

Our company is called ‘CPD Limited’ and has been trading since 1974. Originally ‘CPD’ stood for ‘Cleveland Process Designs’ but as the years have passed and our business has evolved it was right to abbreviate this to ‘CPD’. We are industrial technology solution providers specialising in the Oil, Gas, Power and Chemical industries. What makes us unique is that all of our staff have worked in these industries themselves – we fully understand the needs of people working in these sectors. Our key clients include BP, Oiltanking, Petronas, Perenco and other major global companies. The main driving factor behind this is the search engine and client confusion with ‘Continuous Professional Development’ which also uses the acronym ‘CPD’. We now believe that the name CPD Limited has ran its course – and have chosen Industrial Asset Management Technology = IAMTech. From January 1st 2015 we are to be known as IAMTech. This is both a play on words and an acronym.

The ‘I AM’ is derived from Industrial Asset Management – the ‘Tech’ signifies that we want to take a traditionally manual based set of industry’s and get them to use technology. We want our customers to buy into the ‘IAm Tech’ message personally. In short, we want our logo to do three things: - Clearly show the four industry sectors we serve – Oil, Gas, Power and Chemical. - Demonstrate our first-hand experience of these industries. - Look great on an F1 car Our strapline from January 1st 2015 will be ‘Experience not theory’. We'd like to see logos designed in either (1) Red OR in (2) Blue as red would make us stand out in an industry where blue is the norm. But if we decided that wasn't correct, blue would help us fit in with a very conservative industry. -- Our vision is to become the world’s leading, and market dominant, developer and provider of activity-specific innovative technologies to the Oil, Gas, Power and Chemical industries, in a world where safety, efficiency and profitability are championed, and technology is seen as the key. We promise to operate with integrity, building on our first-hand industry knowledge and experience to develop and provide activity-specific and cost-effective technology solutions, to the Oil, Gas, Power and Chemical industries. There is no intention for the brand to ever expand its business outside of the Oil, Gas, Power and Chemical industries. That said, the brand will grow in prominence, becoming recognised outside of its consumers industries and being invited to sponsor global sporting and cultural events. We are a UK based company with many clients based in both the UK and Europe but we’re looking to grow our international client list. Our first targeted new geographical market for the IAMTech brand will be North America. The brand will look to secure 80% of the market, with 100% client retention. Our current customers include BP, Oiltanking, Petronas and Perenco. We would like to work with companies like Shell, Exxon, Chevron, Dana Petroleum - massive global organisations.
