fairybrand did an excellent job on our image. Incredibly fast with the initial design and super responsive with the changes. Can't wait until our next project!

Laurentide's primary mission is to restore function to degraded ecosystems and environments around the world, and to help others understand what true ecosystem function looks like. When mammoths were eating honey locust pods and dispersing their seeds just 10,000 years ago, it was a time of miraculous abundance and diversity of all lifeforms. There was no soil erosion, no flooding and no drought, and there were no deserts. The relationship between animals and plants maintained ecosystem function at the highest level. Understanding this relationship (mammoth and honey locust), as an example, will serve a guide for all humanity toward the way the world must be in order to sustain all life, including human civilization. Target audience ranges from farmers to corporate executives.

The logo must incorporate a representation of the columbian mammoth tusk (see attached image 1) and the honey locust pod (see attached image 2). Both the tusk and the pod have an amazingly similar form. They're basically a double helix. I'm looking for something that seamlessly combines tusk and pod shape together and represents an ancient symbiotic relationship between the two species. Feel free to get creative with this, but avoid making it look like clip art.
Lastly, I'm hoping this logo is able to communicate the juxtaposition between the magnificent and the ordinary. To understand the magnificent, we have to first understand and respect the ordinary.
