nathan.public got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Create a varsity jacket logo of an owl and an auction for a team at TripAdvisor.

Travel & Hotel
We're one of many software engineering teams at TripAdvisor. Our team name is "commerce" but that word doesn't need to be in the logo. The ideas we're hoping to incorporate are an owl (ex: google image search "tripadvisor owl" -- feel free to base it as much on our normal owl as you like, since its for us anyway) and an auction (as in, selling something to the highest bidder, ex: a bid stick, an auction block, an auction gavel, an auction paddle, etc... we're not sure what makes the most sense, but, for instance, we don't want it to look like a legal firm (so gavel might be confusing) -- so creative ideas on that front is one of the reasons we're going with 99designs.) Some more ideas that people on my team are having, and we'd be happy to see some versions of: Some other ideas that could work instead of an auction: * we could have some kind of representation of money in general (our owl playing with a fat stack of bills, our owl diving into a pile of money scrooge McDuck style?) * if auctions and money aren't your style, you could go with a nerdy/programmer version of our owl. It's less specific to our team, but might be easier to represent and come up with a good logo? Also, we're initially planning to use this on a varsity-style jacket, so one of the driving factors will be "will this look good on the breast or pocket of a varsity jacket" (google image search "varsity logos" -- not that I particularly love them all, but it gives a general idea of a vague style we might be interested in.) -- Of course, totally open to other ideas. Commerce, auctions, owls with green and orange eyes, and varsity jackets.
Other color requirements
I'd like to explore the following colors: Greens: Growth, harmony and success. Yellows: Energy, intellect, fun and youth. Let designers make suggestions:
