How Geoff Rx started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
The Blue Door Family of Pharmacies
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
UPDATED BRIEF: designers - please be sure to stay within the palate of blue/orange/green in the current business logos I have uploaded. Also, most of you have identified the unifying theme of the leaf in my Brand Imagery (growth, health, calm). Five years ago we deliberately stayed away from the Mortar and Pestle, Rx, Pills/Capsules, and Crosses - it's what all our competitors use and it's not for us. If you are going to use the Leaf in your logo submissions, please make them stylistically close/similar to the ones already developed in our logos. They do not need to be exact, but they should be recognizable as similar.
ORIGINAL BRIEF: We need a unifying concept for three independent (privately owned) pharmacies and a pharmaceutical distribution company, owned and operated by a single group of individuals. Primary audience is mothers and adults over 45 (for the pharmacies); secondary audience is biotech and biopharma firms (for Blue Door Pharma, the distribution channel. See additional comments in the design brief). We will begin referring to ourselves as The Blue Door Family of Pharmacies, with associated copy/branding to direct customers to the individual businesses that best fit their needs and geographical area.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Blues: Knowledge, trust, calm and honesty.
Greens: Growth, harmony and success.
Oranges: Creativity, adventure and happiness.
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
We currently own three independent pharmacies and a pharmaceutical distributorship: 1) Shady Grove Pharmacy, 2) The Village Pharmacy, 3) The Blue Door Pharmacy, and 4) Blue Door Pharma (logos attached to design brief). DESIGN BRIEF PURPOSE: Brand messaging has become confusing, so we will begin referring to the "Blue Door Family of Pharmacies." We need a unifying logo that pulls together all 4 current businesses, with the possibility of additional pharmacy locations in the future (we may have as many as 6 by 2017). Logos for the existing 4 businesses are attached.
