Create a simple, clever, and minimalist logo for new dessert catering business, "Layered".

Layered will sell custom cakes for weddings, birthdays, baby showers, and other special occasions. We will cater mid to upscale desserts for small dinner parties to large celebrations. We will also have a farmer's market stand where we will sell fresh pastries and desserts each week. Target audience is anyone that needs their sweet fix, or anyone that needs a visually beautiful cake/dessert to celebrate a special occasion.

I would like a minimalist, clever design with the word "Layered," as well as a subtle and simple image that hints at something that is layered, such as simple layers of lines, or a very subtle reference to layers of a dessert. I prefer lower case lettering, and a modern, clean font, not too thick or bubbly. I am open to ideas for the coloring of the letters, whether different colors, or an ombre look. I also like the geometric colored look (such as in the "KAT web designs" logo), but not sure if or how it could incorporate in this design. I love greys and blues (teals, turquoises), white, and black, but also open to other color combinations (such as a warm accent color) if you think it looks good. Please refrain from using a cherry or candle image anywhere in the logo, as I don't want anything that is too literal. Please be creative, any and all ideas are welcome.
