NikolaN was quick... and held my hand metaphorically through the process. Love the design!

How Nathan3 started their logo design journey
A-1 Appliance Parts
My name's Nathan and for the last few years I have been in charge of the company's logo design. We are now working to redesign our whole web site and I need help. I don't think my logos look professional enough. You can see the last thing I did here: http://www.a-1appliance.com. It is kind of plain and blocky.
Our company sells parts for home appliances (washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, ovens, microwaves).
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our target audience includes anyone who would consider buying an appliance part over the internet. This probably means men and women between the ages of 25 and 50. These people would most likely be homeowners and have families. They would have good incomes and high expections for service and presentation.
We need a logo design that clearly presents the words "A-1 Appliance" or "A-1Appliance.com" or "A-1 Appliance Parts." The dash needs to be seen clearly as well because without it our potential customers will end up at another company's web site.
We are flexible with colors for the logo but we do need for it to look professional and trustworthy. A psychadelic logo would probably be a bad idea. The same goes for font choice-- we want it to look modern and interesting but not goofy.
It would be nice if the logo didn't spread all the way across the page. I know it's a challenge with a long word like "appliance."
An icon to reinforce the brand would also be good.
