Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are a professional BBQ team that competes in the contest circuit all over the country. Our founder started competing 8 years ago under a different team name and was headquartered out of Arizona. He moved to Minnesota in 2015. The name "Fire & Ice" is a play on the extreme climates of both states. Plus, fire and ice are elements always present at BBQ competitions - fire to create the heat and smoke that cooks the meats to perfection, and ice to keep them fresh until it's time to enter the smoker.
While we are only competing as a BBQ team right now, we'd like to expand the Fire & Ice brand into a food-related business at some point down the line, whether it be a catering business, a restaurant, or even an online or brick and mortar store selling rubs, sauces, and other BBQ items.
So target audience now is mainly middle-America folks who are into watching BBQ comps and tasting great smoked meats, but we definitely see that expanding to a broader slate of food offerings and appealing to a wider audience (not just BBQ) at some point in the future.

A quick google search on "BBQ team names" will turn up a host of images featuring cartoon character pigs and plays on words like "Sweet Racks & Smokin Butts" or "Q's Your Daddy". We're going for something a little more modern and clever that can appeal to more sophisticated foodies while still resonating with the core BBQ-lovin' crowd. If you do a google search of "modern BBQ logos" you'll find some options that are more along the lines of what we're thinking.
Our founder has a larger-than-life, happy and friendly persona. A devoted dad and successful corporate sales director by day, cooking and sharing his delicious creations (BBQ and otherwise) has been his lifelong passion. Everyone who meets him considers him a friend, and he is a beloved fixture on the BBQ circuit. It would be wonderful if our logo could capture the essence of his positive, friendly and open-minded personality in some way.
