What I am looking for is a strong logo wherein the 4 quadrants in the circle all contain stylized depictions of the 4 elements with an overall consistency in the stylization. As you can see in the rough sketches, water, wind, and fire all lend themselves fairly easily to being depicted in a recognizeable way. The earth section has me a little stumped. My first thought was something similar to the layers that are shown in cross sections of the earth, or something that looks like the textures of rock. I would like the quadrants to be brightly colored with clean lines. I am not sure what would look best as far as how many layers in the circle, but the lines should be fairly continual between quadrants. The colors should contrast, and I am shooting for the final product to be recognizable at any resolution, even if depicted very small like in a favicon it would still be recognizable due to the colors. the first immediate usage of the logo will be on the label for a 2 ounce bottle. For this reason a vector graphic would be ideal if possible!
Regarding the font, I am open to ideas. something organic, but strong and clean.
If a gradient is used, it should be brighter on the inside and fade to dark, and the gradient should be consistent among all 4 quadrants. The outer circle itself should be a bold line, uniform thickness for the outer circle and the crossing lines. I want this logo to project a feeling of strength, stability and power. My promotional content is scientifically sound and well researched, but presented in an artistic compelling way. I would like the logo to reflect this attitude and approach.
The images unfortunately uploaded without the correct orientation, so just go with the orientation that would prevail if they were right side up as far as the placement of the elements goes. Upper left, air, upper right, water, lower left, fire, lower right, earth.
The elements should all have a circular flow to them as showed in the concept drawings, so that regardless of where they were placed in the circle they would all fit. The main circle and cross being bold and dark is important so that the logo is recognizeable at many different resolutions. Each quadrant should be filled with the appropriate color, with a gradient that seperates the circular layers. I feel living earth would look best at the top of the circle, no capitals, with a unique font.
