RE-volv is a non-profit organization that finances community solar energy projects through crowd sourcing micro-donations on our website RE-volv.org. People who care about the environment and renewable energy come to our website and donate a small amount of money. That gets put into a revolving fund that pays for solar installations on community centers in the US. The community center pays for the solar over 20 years in installments. The money is continually re-invested in other community solar projects.

RE-volv’s mission is to empower people and communities to invest collectively in renewable energy. RE-volv’s vision is to see people unite around a common goal of creating a renewable energy powered society. The three levels of impact RE-volv aims to achieve are: 1. Empower individuals and communities who want to drive renewable energy; 2. Drive renewable energy growth by financing community solar installations; 3. Demonstrate support for renewable energy to policymakers, industry, and the public. The overarching goal of RE-volv is to empower the grassroots renewable energy movement in the United States. By giving renewable energy supporters a tool to directly finance renewable energy, and by providing communities access to capital for renewable energy, we aim to strengthen the American grassroots renewable energy movement and develop increased political and cultural support for renewable energy. RE-volv’s goal is to organize a cooperative effort that will directly address the energy challenge. The slogan's we are thinking about are: "Empowering people and communities to invest collectively in renewable energy." "A People's Movement for Renewable Energy." "Invest in American Communities. Invest in Renewable Energy." "Invest in Renewable Energy Today." Other things to think about: The name "RE-volv" refers to two things. It refers to the fact that this is a revolving fund that continues to reinvest money in community solar projects. Visual representations of continuous, perpetual, sustainable cycles are welcomed. The name also stems from "RE(Renewable Energy) + Evolve". So in other words our species is evolving through Renewable Energy. Feel free to be creative with that. At the heart, RE-volv is a collective, grassroots, participatory, cooperative effort tasked with creating a renewable energy powered society. Visual representation of a group effort, working together, working through community, and collaboration are encouraged. Target audience: Our target audience is environmentally focused youth potentially involved in activism. But we don't want to market exclusively to them. Our next target audience is individuals concerned about the environment maybe in their 20's-50's that are online and using social media. Another target audience is the communities we serve. This is the local school, church, community center and their constituents and administrators. Also other environmental organizations and funders. That means we need a logo that is exciting and new and hip that will make people feel like they are part of a collective effort and a grassroots movement- and at the same time a logo that shows we are a responsible, professional, trustworthy financial institution that communities and donors can trust.
