Thank you for working on our logo! Please be mindful that the object is an oyster shape not a clam. We do want to use an ampersand between Oysters & Peals. The reason for the title Oysters & Pearls is that the oyster, a small living creature, can produce over time, a thing of beauty and value. Pearls take input from its surrounding to give it its beauty, starting with a small a grain of sand. This is for an educational program that is in Uganda and will expand to other locations. It is for ALL age groups, so we do not want to have it look like it is for just young children. Please feel free to ask questions, we welcome them.
As for colors, maybe I should expand on that, actually deep reds, greens, purples and oranges are OK, but I wouldn't go "electric."
The program has started in Uganda and will expand into other parts of Africa if that helps. FYI - Winston Churchill referred to Uganda as being the "Pearl of Africa."
I've attached some pearl and oyster scrap files just for your information, not really to give hints about what we like and don't like. Thought it would be helpful for you to see some of the ways an oyster shell can look and that it has that pearlized interior. But again, we do need it in eps (vector) and in black and white.
Contest Extended: We just extended the contest as we were getting too literal with the oysters and pearls drawings without the education component. Please refer to the sample logos I uploaded above. I really like Spartan, so clever the way they show that golfing is what the business is about, but still manage to include the silhouette of the spartan helmet and the face. Thank you so much for your designs! I really appreciate your time and effort.
