Hudson Soap Company
This is a handmade soap company based in Brooklyn, NY. The soap is all natural and made from sustainably derived ingredients. It is made with natural colorants and formed in a mold, so it's quite attractive. The name comes from the Hudson River Valley where the company was originally conceived. It was first crafted in a small studio on the second floor of a barn built in 1809 which was located on an organic farm started by the owners.
Most importantly, the soap carries with it a handmade, artisanal, old-fashioned, country-city appeal. Heavily influenced by natural materials, naval artifacts, and the outdoors.
The target audience are city-dwellers who appreciate locally crafted luxury goods with aesthetic appeal and care about the environment. Most people, who buy this soap, buy it as a gift, instead of for themselves. The soap will also be sold online to buyers who buy something sweet for men and women.
Soap is often sold by the label. So looking for something great! Most likely the logo will be printed on brown recycled paper bands which will wrap the soap, and also be on the website, business cards, vender kits, ect.
The best shape for the logo will be that it fits inside a horizontal rectangle. The logo will be on a band that horizontally wraps around the soap. Although other sizes are okay, as well. Could always print the logo on a tag and tie the tag to the bar of soap.
Would love to see someone use the same idea from the stock and barrel buffalo I uploaded. Except to use an old fashioned claw-footed bathtub, instead of the buffalo!

A red fox used to live inside the barn, as well, and became a mascot for the soap-maker. So ideas that contain a fox in the logo might be great! This is not a requirement, though. :) Also, arrows, whales...? Or just stripped down simplicity and love of the well-crafted.
