Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are beekeepers who specialize in live removal and relocation of mature honey bee colonies from structures, trees, objects, etc. We also do live bumble bee removal and relocation. Our target audience is anyone with any type of bee problem, that wants to remove the bees without killing them or using any type of chemicals/pesticides. Part of our service is to educate clients on bee biology, beehavior, and to relieve some of the cultural fears of honey bees.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?

The sketch is my initial idea for the logo. For the design of the queen bee I like the anatomical style drawing more so than a cartoonish bee, with the 2 sets of wings spread open. I am not sure on the color scheme, I think black and yellow are a good start for the queen bee, with maybe red AA. I'm not sure about the background color the Bee Removal. I would like to incorporate the voluntaryism logo in the thorax (between the wings) of the queen bee. As for background maybe some kind of honeycomb pattern, possibly blue/green border/emblem. I am open to any other logo ideas.
I choose the queen bee to be the centerpiece of the logo because she is an important part of out removal service. The goal I strive to accomplish on each job is to literally "catch the queen". Once she is captured the rest of the job goes much smoother as the rest of the bees will follow her. I show her to the clients to reassure them that "these bees" won't becoming back. That being said I am open to any other ideas designers might have for a great logo. Here is a link to a short video that show what we do. http://youtu.be/-CnE23NBddo
