You could draw on the concept of a "crowd ""crowdsourcing" - as we crowdsource fever and cough symptoms or even a map as we map cases. The main feature could be the word "FluTracking". Another theme to explore is that our participants are everyday Australians - they are not scientists but might consider themselves citizen scientists - they do this as an act of goodwill and curiosity. so general public/community are the target for this logo.
