Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We are looking for a new logo to be used on a website where users will be able to test out various algorithmic trading strategies. The name ‘AlgoReplay’ comes from the idea that the web app will allow people to replay various strategies to see whether they would have been profitable. Although not wanting to stereotype too much, we expect the initial users to be people with an active interest in the financial markets - so probably males between 20 and 50 (eg as opposed to children).
Logo types to explore

Logo placement / surroundings: The logo will primarily be used both on a landing page website and within a web app (ie not on printed material). It is worth saying now that although by no means mandatory it is quite common for trading style apps to utilise high contrast colouring. It is also common for the background to be a dark colour with the numbers / charts etc to be in a lighter colour. eg search “trading apps” on google images : https://www.google.com/search?q=trading+apps&tbm=isch So therefore you should assume the background and area immediately surrounding the logo will be dark. The website has yet to be built so there is no fixed background colour for this yet. Initially we were thinking that it would have a fairly typical design in terms of colours, ie lighter background with darker text. This, however, is the opposite to the web app. So since these two are somewhat contradictory (in terms of foreground / background colouring), the priority is for the logo to look good on the web app first (ie with a dark background). If this in turns means that the logo on the website needs to be set against a dark background or surround then we can build around that. The logo should : - incorporate the name ‘AlgoReplay’ in a way that makes it easy to read the two words, ie “Algo” in one colour or font and “Replay” in another; or use upper vs lower case or something like that. Just something that makes it easy to recognise the two words ‘algo’ and ‘replay’. - be modern yet professional looking (ie. no need for lots of drop shadows, gradients etc) In terms of words and phrases to describe what we’re hoping the logo will convey, we’ve thought of just a few : - fast information - success and profitability (naturally :) - clarity of thought / focused Finally the logo should be scalable both up and down in terms of size - ie so vector based. In terms of delivered files, we would like to have .eps file(s) included please.
