We're a website design company. We rarely do logos, but are very capable of doing our own. However, we'd like to have someone outside do it. We're great at creating websites (and sometimes logos) for our clients. But we always get to do those projects with a fresh, outside perspective. We'd like you to do the same for us.
Our core business is websites. We haven't thought of any good symbols that represent websites. Maybe you can. Currently our logo features an outline of the body of a fiddle/violin. We'd like to get away from that. "Fiddler" is an important part of our name/brand, but we don't want people to associate us with fiddles and music. We build websites, and are designers. We're not fiddlers or a music studio, or anything like that.
A few of our core values are:
1. Simplicity: we love making things simple, from the way we approach design, to the way we communicate with our team and clients, to the way we structure our business and the vendors we use. Simplicity wins out over price, and almost every other factor.
2. Happiness: we emphasize happiness for ourselves, our team, and our clients. We want to make clients a little bit happier knowing their website is always running, looking great, and the can get it updated with a simple phone call or email.
3. Partnership: we "partner" with our clients, winning their business every day with no contracts. We want to repeatedly prove ourselves a capable and valuable partner by offering great value through training, as well as the website we provide and maintain for them.
4. Fun: we love to have fun. We want to make sure everything we do has an element of fun. That's for us and our clients. We take the hassle of their website off their plate, so they have more time for family and fun.
I'm not saying the logo needs to incorporate all of those, but just to give you an idea of some things the logo might convey.
Also, we've been using a blue (#0073d2) which we like. But we're not convinced we should stick with it. It would be nice if the logo could work with that blue, at least so we can initially use the new logo without redoing the color on everything. But if you design the logo with a different color palette, that's cool too. We're open to changing our colors completely. If there's colors you feel would better convey fun and energy and such, we're open to that.
Alternatively, use that blue or similar one, but find us another color that goes with it. We're using a green on our website now, but they don't quite go together. We've made them work by separating them with white, but they're not a perfect match. Just a band-aid for our own stuff, while we're busy working on our client's websites. Just make sure whatever color combination you choose, reflects well our values (eg. probably no deep reds, or dark purples--needs to be fun and friendly, but still professional).
