Block Island Salt Works
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Block Island Salt Works evaporates ocean water to produce all natural and organic sea salt. We are a family owned and run artisanal sea salt business that operates on Block Island - 13 miles off the coast of Rhode Island. Our target audience would range from summer tourists to specialty grocery stores with the ultimate aim of selling wholesale to high end restaurants.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
Block Island is a small island located 13 miles off the New England Coast. We like the idea of having a specific image as the logo along with the name of the company written out. The shape of Block Island is very unique and may work well, but is frequently used.. perhaps overused. There are beautiful lighthouses on the island as well. These are also frequently used and perhaps overused. We had previously toyed with the idea of a cedar shingled cottage or perhaps a bicycle leaning against the cottage with a basket filled with bread/wine/flowers/salt/etc. We are not married to this idea, however. This may also be too busy, given that our logo is going to be the main imagery on a small glass bottle that the salt will come in. In other words, a crowded logo may not work great given that the logo will be very small when applied to the salt bottles. Attached are a few pictures we took while playing around with how to brand ourselves. Again, we are not married to these images but they may give you a feel for our product and how we would like to represent ourselves.
