CivicSpark is a new AmeriCorps program designed to provide high-quality, technical support to local governments in order to help California communities pursue clean energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, safeguard against climate change impacts, and implement sustainable community strategies.
CivicSpark will operate in nine regions across California, placing 48 AmeriCorps members in teams of 3 - 6 in each region. CivicSpark members will provide capacity-building support to local governments through research, planning and implementation activities, while simultaneously supporting volunteer engagement.
CivicSpark is a program of the Local Government Commission (LGC), a nonprofit with over 34 years of experience supporting local government sustainability initiatives. LGC is partnered with the state of California Governor's office on this initiative.

We want to make sure this logo / identity is complimentary with LGC's identity, but also don't want to restrict designs to the LGC look exactly. We would also like to consider logos that have the AmeriCorps logo (attached to brief) integrated as well as not. We have to combine them in some places, but don't want to be constrained by that logo. So alternate versions of logo designs with and without the AmeriCorps logo would be helpful to consider
