We are a modern creative startup space in central Beijing, China, that hosts a variety of food and beverage startups ranging anywhere from packaged food, baked goods, craft beer, street food (such as Chinese versions of food truck food), healthy organic (think salads, cold press juices), and much more. The space will have a multitude of functions catering to the equivalent of millennials in Beijing (20-35 years old, urban, professional, progressive), such as the food court itself, bar/live entertainment, and will be a take-out center where customers can order delivery services from most if not all of the startups within. Our goal is to foster food and beverage business growth, whether they are an individual starting their first venture, or an experienced restaurant team looking to expand existing or new concepts. It is very important that our Chinese name 育膳房 to be the main feature of the logo (since we are in China and catering to Chinese customers). Will be best if designers know a little bit about Chinese characters/fonts. The three characters in our name represent Nurture (育), Dining (膳), and Home (房), which is exactly what we'd like to achieve with this space. Our English name, The Crib, is also a projection of that, since a crib is a baby's first home within her home, and 'crib' has also evolved into a modern, hip phrase for home.
Lastly some key features we'd like to see in the logo. The wording (both Chinese and English) can be stylized, but must be extremely clear. The emotions generated should resonate with youth, urban, hip, cool, and a touch of sophistication. Chinese youth are very upward moving, faced with the pressures of family and society. We'd like to be a comfortable space (thus the theme on 'home' and 'crib') where they can take their minds off of these pressures, but at the same time allow them to show off the fruits of their labor.
