Emergence-Creative got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Create an iconic international political image

Creating an iconic image to symbolize the historic visit of Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, to the United States. The image must capture how Modi embodies a commitment to modern values, progress, reform, and collaboration while maintaining a sense of dignity and wisdom.
Logo types to explore
The goal is to create an iconic image akin to the Shepard Fairy "Hope" image of Barack Obama. "NOW" is the core name we want to associate with the image, but we'd like to see explorations both with and without the additional tag line "Modi in America." The challenge is to stylize an image of Modi that feels energetic, wise, thoughtful, and progressive without being cliched. The US/India collaboration will also be an important element of the image that needs to be subtly incorporated. The design needs to be clean and simple, uncluttered. We've included a range of images to guide the design, however you should feel free to explore additional photos of Modi from other sources.
