Travel & Hotel
This logo is for a new online 'virtual' destination guide for Sydney, which uses 360 degree photographic technology to give a more lifelike experience. See example of something very similar - https://rapturousmedia.com/examples/ Note that our logo would also be positioned top left in the menu bar, so it must be clear and visible. Target market is anyone in the world interested in travel who is coming to, or might be considering visiting Sydney, Australia in the future and are doing their research online. So mainly adults with enough income and opportunity to travel - it should work in any language. It is highly likely that we will create additional guides for more cities and regions, so the location name (Sydney) needs to be interchangeable with other names (ie Melbourne), so we require a font for the name that we can change ourselves, depending on the location name in the future. So, the 360 element of the design is the most important part of the brand, and it may be used on its own at some point. We want the design to be modern, clean, legible and simple. Don't over complicate it or make it too fussy - we want something that is nice strong contemporary design. I'm not sure we need the small degree icon above the 360, so I'll leave that up to the designer's choice. I have included a few sketches for reference only, but I am open to all ideas. Maybe we can use an arrow, but maybe we don't? One thing that may be interesting is shaping the 360 numerals like it is slightly spherical itself, but I stress that I'm open to all ideas, so long as they are simple and elegant. Note the logo needs to work mainly at the top of a webpage, so it should read as one line and fit neatly on a menu bar (ie, the 360 part isn't much bigger than the name Sydney. We don't mind if Sydney is uppercase (SYDNEY) or lowercase (sydney). We are open to any colour combinations. Note that I don't want to see any visual references to Sydney in the 360 element (ie Sydney Opera House or Harbour Bridge interpretations), firstly because it is a bit cliched but mainly because I want the 360 part of the logo to be interchangeable with other cities.
I enclose two files. One is a google search screenshot of 360 icons - which shows there is already an established logo type, and they are all pretty similar. This is reference only because it would be nice to do something a bit original. I also include a couple of my own sketches to show that it can be upper or lower case, I've also tried to show the warped 360 look that I referred to in the brief above, and we may change the destination name later (I used Melbourne as an example) , and I'm totally open to any colours. Please be clear that we are open to any good ideas and design, which is why we are using this site.
