Text treatments should keep "Cattell Street" together and account for future brand extensions i.e. "Cattell Street Partners", "Cattell Street Ventures", etc.
We want the logo to be modern and classic (not trendy), but the subtly modern vintage spin has been appealing to us because it is a nice nod to the long American tradition of small business owners and entrepreneurship.
Through this contest, we are looking to find a logo and partner who is has an exciting design vision to work on additional projects (proposal to be discussed separately after the contest) including our brand guide, website, printed materials and future new restaurant logos. We are looking for designers who are a great fit with us in style, collaboration, who understand our strategic vision and can best bring this to life in an exciting way!
Use the time we have left to further develop your logo AND more importantly, focus your energy on showing us your interpretation of how this logo would come to life as our bigger brand identity based on our brief! Please note that I am NOT asking for additional deliverables like a brand guide now. We are looking to get a better idea of your design style and perspective before this contest ends! It would be great to see a mood board, imagery or any other design element examples that will help us understand your design vision or bigger picture for this corporate brand identity.
BONUS POINTS - include a brief but strong rationale to explain how elements of your design communicates our brand identity. We love seeing concept stories or explanations with entries. While strong design speaks for itself, the conceptual dialogue helps us understand your design thinking and encourages dialogue to align us with your vision.
Things we no longer want to see in a logo:
- NO utensils, forks, knives, spatulas
We really want our brand personality to shine through so I've rewritten the creative brief to shorten it and list our most important brand personality attributes. Please read them over again before submitting your concept - our brand personality is:
For many of the designs, please take the time to see if there is an opportunity to refine them further to strengthen your concept and for SIMPLICITY.
Please make sure that final logo delivery includes format for digital use (web, mobile app, etc.)
I am open to considering various fonts but am leaning towards the subtly "vintage" and clean grotesque font options:
- Halis Grotesque
- Bucksaw Grotesque
- Acherus Grotesque
- Aqsa Grotesque
These are for consideration only if you think they can go with your designs! Also, I would like the weight for "Cattell Street" to be heavier than for "Brands".
