a little Zen a little industrial.
or a little Zen a little Western
or a little Zen a little technical
—gimmicky or complicated…prefer simple, elegant and balanced.
—cute or overly clever
—two letters. S and T
—S with a cursive look, as if painted by a Japanese calligraphy brush or calligrapher. Possibly with paint-brush strokes.
—T with a simple look, maybe industrial, but a contrast to the “S”
—My name: Steve Thomas (this isn’t necessarily important since my name is very common in the US).
—A border or boundary—I’m thinking a border to make the S and the T fit together (this isn’t a requirement but an idea—prefer rectangle or square to round or oval). If a border or boundary is used, a non-border logo option will be need to be provided.
Primary uses will be Black and White. Logo needs to scale from small (favicon) to large—strong visual on a webpage.
Print uses will be minimal and all Black and White.
Primary uses will be positive (black letters on white) but must work in reverse (white letters on black).
I like the idea of the S and the T touching or overlapping.
I like the idea of the S and the T being contained in a boundary or border…maybe with the S breaking through the lines of the box…sort of “out of the box.”
I think the S and the T should be equal weight visually and size.
Note examples of Calligraphy and "S" files I like.

Examples of an “S” I experimented with and like:
in pen—I like the shape of this S:
in marker—I like the way the marker strokes look here (but not the shape of the S):
