The Nordic Pain Consortium is a multi-institutional, cross-disciplinary and cross-border organization. The consortium consists of research organizations (universities) from each of the five Nordic countries (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland).
The purpose of the consortium is to facilitate and build interdisciplinary, cross-border research and training activities within pain research amongst the partners. Furthermore the aim is to create a fertile research and training environment for young scientist and clinicians to obtain key competencies required for cutting edge pain research. Besides world class research collaborations and exchange programs, the consortium also focuses on innovative capacity building, industry collaboration and innovation as well as dissemination of research results to the world.
Nordic Pain Consortium will utilize and benefit from a very strong international position of excellence in each of the five Nordic countries within “Translational Pain Research: From Cell to Patient” and intensify and increase this position in a common Nordic initiative to strengthen the international competitiveness of Nordic pain research.
