Emotience is an education platform that teaches individuals 'people skills' in a programmatic, learnable way. Currently in education, most of the emphasis is placed on hard skills (like programming and Excel) rather than soft skills, even though studies show 80% of success is determined by EQ. Drawing from the latest in psychology, HR management and human behavior, Emotience helps smart, high achievers become social experts in the workplace. The name Emotience actually comes from Emotional Intelligence Target audience: 1) “Harrison”: High-functioning, logical, and has high IQ. These individuals tend to be in Engineering or tech roles. While Harrison has achieved career success because he is smart and has worked hard for what he wants, he struggles with upward mobility as he is intimidated by social situations and feels frustrated that he can’t apply a “framework” to this aspect of his life. He struggles when it comes to people issues because these situations are ambiguous and not intuitive for him. Harrison needs help with becoming more self-aware, communicating and influencing others beyond using just logic, and connecting better with colleagues. 2) “Internationals”: Individuals not born in the US and struggle with assimilating into the Western work environment. While their coworkers eventually learn to accept and understand them over time, this customer struggles most with making good first impressions and creating small talk at networking events or interviews.
