gibsonmc got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Create compelling logo for a website dedicated to studying and preventing marine conservation crime

Possibly the name of the website, but not required.
Breaching the Blue is presently a blog (http://www.breachingtheblue.com) that offers content on marine policy, with a special focus on illegal fishing. I'd like to expand the website to offer more critical analysis and, even more importantly, serve as the foundation upon which I develop my research related to a PhD in Criminology that I will pursue next year. I would also hope that the website is later expanded to showcase specific consulting services I will offer to the fishing industry, governments, and environmental NGOs related to the prevention of illegal fishing. Given this, I would like to pursue a website redesign to professionalize the visuals and layout, and I'd like to start with finding a new logo that could help provide a visual style to the redesign.
