How gibsonmc started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Breaching the Blue
What’s your company slogan?
Possibly the name of the website, but not required.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Breaching the Blue is presently a blog (http://www.breachingtheblue.com) that offers content on marine policy, with a special focus on illegal fishing. I'd like to expand the website to offer more critical analysis and, even more importantly, serve as the foundation upon which I develop my research related to a PhD in Criminology that I will pursue next year. I would also hope that the website is later expanded to showcase specific consulting services I will offer to the fishing industry, governments, and environmental NGOs related to the prevention of illegal fishing.
Given this, I would like to pursue a website redesign to professionalize the visuals and layout, and I'd like to start with finding a new logo that could help provide a visual style to the redesign.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
The logo should therefore be of the same 'species' of logos as that employed by organizations in my field, but I certainly would enjoy some clever innovation as I'd like my eventual consultancy to be a bit more progressive than your average NGO, development bank, or development consultancy. I've uploaded samples of some good example logos for organizations in my field. Noticeably the logos are quite 'friendly', but given that I'll focus on the analysis and prevention of natural resource crime, a more 'firm' logo could be quite nice, and we might try for a few different color treatments given that blues are already so heavily used.
