Henry David Thoreau lived in a 10' by 15' cabin he himself built at Walden Pond, outside of Concord, Massachusetts. It was partly to escape the 19th century ways that Thoreau isolated himself, to go his own way.Thoreau saw Walden as a chance to escape the premade paths defined for him by 19th century society. In the end, he found he had created his own paths and left to experience other paths as well.
Walden's Path is based on the the notion that people need to be able to get to information following their own path, construct and create their own paths. At the heart of this notion is the importance of multiple perspectives and varied ways of interpreting and doing the same thing. Hence, the direction towards different colors of the spectrum indicating different wavelengths, frequencies and possibilities.
The path should be colourful, resembling 'W' shape abstractly....Meaning, the journey is happy and enjoyable. Every child will create his own path colourfully, happily and intelligently. Where as the letter's WALDEN'S PATH should be clear, precise and well defined.
