Design Brief for ProStart
About the company:
“ProStart Careers” is a professional careers service aimed at providing full support to students and new graduates making the transition from education (universities, college and vocational training centres) into employment- typically entry level positions.
The concept is owned by an international company of UK heritage, well established in the Employment Services sector.
Initial launch has been primarily aimed at the Arab world but with a view to international expansion, so a logo that is “transportable globally” is important.
The aim of the design brief is to initially create a logo only for this new arm of the business. We are at proposal stage with several large education establishments and intention of the logo is to “bring to life” and add tangibility to the ‘Careers Service’ concept.
The careers service will be delivered via trained careers support staff located in physical, on-campus careers service centres, as well as via a newly designed website.
The tagline “Professional Careers Support” needs to be incorporated into the logo somehow.
We are open to use of an icon, either relevant to the business or playing on the various images conjured up by what the business does, for example:
• Starting out on a career path / career ladder
• “Reaching for the stars”
• Road ahead
• Starter flag
• “Start here”, runner, map through maze etc.
We are completely flexible on the colours and fonts used (should appeal to the primary target market).
The target market for the service is two-fold:
1. Primary target: students themselves who must feel (through the image created by the logo) that the careers service is modern, in tune with their needs, approachable, friendly and worthwhile. The success of the project is reliant on a critical mass of students who use the service and go on to successful employment placement.
2. Secondary target market: The colleges/ universities who will ultimately be funding the services of the career centre over a two year period. The logo must engender feelings of a ‘professional outfit’, capable of delivering on all it has promised.
This initial design brief is for a business logo only.
Upon tendering success, the logo will be used to build up an entire brand. Use will extend across signage, website, all marketing materials and stationery, as well as social media platforms e.g. icons and associated images.
The final completed logo is required by June 2nd 2014
